Biodiesel Logic was founded in 2005 by Jeff Breeden, John West and Russell Beals and was based on the vision that small to medium scale biodiesel processing is both logical and profitable.  Further, that applying industrial engineering criterion to small to medium scale biodiesel processing technology can substantially improve biodiesel production quality, efficiency and profitability.  We have secured an alliance with a successful, long standing  manufacturing company GSM Steel & Mechanical Contactors (formally known as ‘Guntersville Sheet Metal’) located in the Tennessee Valley of North Alabama.  We have also secured the assistance of Process Engineering Training Associates; LLC (‘PITA’) to provide both paper and computer based training materials for the installation and operation of our equipment.  Together we are committed to delivering the highest quality small to medium scale biodiesel processing equipment possible at a reasonable price

GSM Steel & Mechanical Contractors

GSM Steel & Mechanical Contractors (GSM), formally Guntersville Sheet Metal, founded in 1948, was purchased by MacRea Benefield in 2004 and he has brought a refreshing new image to the company with its new name.  Long recognized for its excellence in manufacturing and craftsmanship, GSM brings to bear the latest in technology to the metal industry, including state of the art computer design (CAD) and layout capabilities with 3-D visuals of the finished assembly and precise fitting of components.  Their facilities in Guntersville, AL provide the ability to process more than 300 tons of steel products annually with more than 45 shop and field personnel.  Their customers are in all process industries, including food, oil, chemical, agriculture, pulp and paper, shipping and transportation, include: Bunge, GoldKist, Tyson, Donaldson, Fluid Engineering, Tip Top Poultry, Koch Food, BoWater, Mueller, Tennessee Aluminum, Tyco Fire Products, Fitco, Kirkpatrick, Huhtamaki, EcoLab, Chemical Lime, Cagle’s, and Master Brand.  GSM currently occupies in excess of 20,000 square feet of shop space, 6,000 square feet of engineering and office space and an 8,000 square foot sand blast and painting facility adjacent to the shop.  Their adequate lay down and storage facilities allow the ability to buy volume inventory to maintain a competitive pricing posture.  They are currently planning to expand the facility to accommodate a laser cutting table to complement their CAD system thereby speeding production and reducing waste and cost.

PITA located in Pelham, Alabama is a full-service training provider specializing in developing site specific operator, maintenance and staff training materials for the process industry.  They have the experience to facilitate in-depth discussions of training strategies, design, development, cost, and implementation.  They routinely assist clients with development of:

PITA, was formed in 1996 is a LLC with four working partners.  The staff includes engineers, instructional designers, artists, and programmers that average over 20 years process industry experience.

PITA places special emphasis on assisting organizations to comply with OSHA’s PSM 1910.119 mandate, to develop cluster rule driven training and to establish and maintain ISO 9000/14000 series certification.  They take pride in their track record in providing customized training programs that have assisted their clients across North America to effectively deal with the burgeoning scope of international, national, and local standards regulating production, quality and safety.

PITA’s clients range from dozens of major corporations such as BP/Amoco, Georgia-Pacific, and Weyerhaeuser to small local firms with less than 20 employees.
