"Description"

The BDL-55 Packaged Processor System.  It comes with a 400 micron WVO pre-filter, 84 gallon cone bottom stainless steel reaction vessel and 84 gallon holding/storage tank with  integrated Amberlite dry wash cell, 1 micron final filter and  maintenance access covers w/gasket,  15 gallon HDPE methyl/oxide  mixing tank all mounted on a heavy duty steel stand.  Every PPS comes with an installed 110VAC 12 GPM oil  mixing & glycerin removal/dry wash transfer  pump,  110VAC high speed methoxide prop mixer with stainless steel shaft and 3-blade prop, 110VAC fuel transfer pump, pneumatic methanol/methyl-oxide pump,  internal 220VAC heater,  220VAC flash separator/heater, methanol recovery condenser, visual level indication gage's, solid state low liquid level controls, nema-12 control panel, vacuum breaker, pressure relief valve, 88 lb Amberlyte charge, removable man-way cover for routine maintenance and cleaning of reactor, and step-by-step directions for use. The reactor is insulated with 1/4" high density ceramic fiber insulation and wrapped with a aluminum cover. The unit control panel features dual digital temperature controllers with illuminated push buttons for each process stage.

Reactor Vessels TIG welded 304   stainless steel body and support legs, Dry Wash Vessels TIG welded carbon steel  body and support legs, Painted heavy duty carbon steel stands  and bases.

Electrical:               

230 VAC / 30Amp Circuit. The Unit is provided with a prewired load disconnect on the control panel, it is required that the unit be connected to your electric distribution panel in accordance with the NEC.  The unit must be connected to a earth ground.

Controls:                

The standard semi-automated control system features programmable timing controls and dual digital temperature controllers with illuminated push buttons for each process stage. Human interaction is required for each of six steps of process.

Reaction Method:  

Base;   Base/Base;   Acid-catalyzed esterification of free fatty acids followed by base-catalyzed transesterification of triglycerides.  Titration is necessary for all methods.

Wash Method:     

Dry Wash with Amberlite; Absolutely no water used.

Batch Time:           

Reaction Time - 1.5 hrs;  Settling Time - 2 hrs;   Dry Wash/Methanol Recovery - 3 hrs                        

(Depending on Reaction Method Selected)

Total Process Time:

Approx. 8 hours start to finish.  If feed-stock has been de-watered and preheated to140 degrees F

Note:  Although you can dewater or precondition W.V.O in the reactor vessel.  To get a shorter process time and the highest conversion possible we recommend that you either build a separate dewatering/preconditioning tank or purchase one of our purpose built Pre Conditioning Tanks.

Note:  Unit does not include WVO supply pump, you must either provide your own or purchase separately.
